Faithful Home Buying, LLC is a Harrisonburg-based real estate investment company that evaluates residential properties, rental properties, land, and other real estate opportunities throughout Harrisonburg, Rockingham County, and the Shenandoah Valley.

Founded in 2014, our approach is straightforward: understand the property, evaluate the opportunity carefully, and determine whether there is a transaction that makes sense for everyone involved.

We are not looking for every property. We are looking for real estate opportunities where our experience, ability to evaluate a property's potential, and willingness to consider properties in their current condition may provide a practical solution.

Properties We Consider

​

Houses That Need Repairs or Renovation

Some properties need more work than an owner wants to take on before selling.

We consider houses with deferred maintenance, outdated interiors, damaged components, unfinished projects, fire or water damage, and other repair needs.

Every property is evaluated individually.

Rental and Investment Properties

We consider residential rental properties, including single-family homes, townhomes, and certain small residential investment opportunities.

Property condition, occupancy, lease status, location, expenses, and other factors may affect whether a property fits our investment criteria.

Vacant Properties

Vacant homes can create ongoing responsibilities and expenses for an owner.

We evaluate vacant houses throughout Harrisonburg, Rockingham County, and other communities in the Shenandoah Valley.

Inherited Properties

An inherited property may require decisions about repairs, maintenance, personal belongings, ownership, estate administration, and eventual sale.

Faithful Home Buying considers inherited properties and can evaluate whether a direct purchase may be one of the options available to the owner or estate.

Ownership and estate circumstances vary. Property owners and estate representatives should obtain appropriate legal and tax advice when needed.

Land and Building Opportunities

We consider certain land and building opportunities based on location, zoning, access, utilities, development potential, and other property-specific considerations.

Not every parcel is a fit, but we are willing to review opportunities throughout our service area.

 

Properties With Complicated Situations

Sometimes the challenge is not simply the condition of the house.

We are willing to evaluate properties involving unusual circumstances, including:

• significant deferred maintenance
• vacant houses
• inherited properties
• difficult rental situations
• relocation
• unwanted properties
• properties with title or ownership questions
• unfinished renovations
• fire or water damage
• properties an owner simply no longer wants to maintain

We cannot solve every real estate problem, and we do not provide legal, tax, bankruptcy, lending, or financial advice. What we can do is evaluate whether purchasing the property may be a realistic option.

Our Investment Approach

We believe a good real estate investment begins with realistic expectations.

That means evaluating the property itself, its location, condition, repair needs, potential use, market demand, expenses, and risks.

We do not believe every property is a good investment simply because it can be purchased.

​

Our Process Generally Includes:

1. Understanding the Property

We gather information about the property's location, condition, ownership, occupancy, and the owner's goals.

2. Researching the Opportunity

We review relevant property information and evaluate whether the opportunity fits our current acquisition criteria.

3. Visiting the Property When Appropriate

Depending on the property and situation, we may need to see the property in person before determining whether we are interested in making an offer.

4. Evaluating Whether a Direct Purchase Makes Sense

If the property appears to be a potential fit, we determine whether Faithful Home Buying can present a direct-purchase option.

There is no obligation for a property owner to accept an offer.

About the Founder

​

Derek Chaudhuri founded Faithful Home Buying, LLC in 2014 as a real estate investment company.

Derek later became a licensed Virginia real estate professional in June 2020 and works full time as a REALTOR® with Kline May Realty in Harrisonburg, Virginia.

​

Faithful Home Buying and Derek's real estate brokerage activities are separate business activities.

When Faithful Home Buying or an affiliated entity is evaluating or purchasing a property for its own account, the purchasing entity is acting as a principal in the transaction and not as the property owner's real estate representative unless a separate written brokerage relationship has been established.

​

Appropriate disclosures are provided when required by law and the circumstances of a specific transaction.
